The Latvian folk dancing group "Jautrais pāris" was established in 1950, and since then has performed at all Australian Latvian Arts Festivals and Youth Festivals, many Folkloric festivals at the Sydney Opera House, and countless concerts and events organised by the Sydney Latvian community and other organisations, including several UkiFests.

In 1976, together with the Latvian folkdance group "Sprigulītis" from Canberra, "Jautrais pāris" formed the folkloric ensemble "Saules josta", which became well known to Latvian communities around the globe, through its seven international tours and participation in two National Song and Dance Festivals in Latvia. More recently, dancers from "Jautrais pāris" have also participated in National Song and Dance Festivals as part of the combined Australian dance group “Jūrmalnieki”.
