Stefan Barchinski – tenor voice / bandura (Ukrainian string instrument) - is an Australian (of Ukrainian background) tenor singer and bandurist who is 17 years old, in Year 12 at high school and lives in Sydney Australia. Stefan is currently studying singing (tenor voice) with Mr Simon Gilkes (Opera Australia). He has completed his tenor vocal musical performance exam Diploma of Associate in Music Australia (A Mus A) AMEB when he was 16 years old (2025).

Also, Stefan has studied bandura performance with Dr Victor Mishalow in Canada in 2025. Stefan regularly sings in his school choir, solo and small group performances from his elective music 2 class and extension music class, acapella group singing this year 2025 at music Gala evenings, Charity fund raising fairs, Ukrainian Crisis Appeal concert at Newcastle Cathedral (2025), church services, Stand Tall Sydney event at Darling Harbour and solo music recitals at school. Stephen also sings at St Andrews Ukrainian Catholic church on Sundays. He has also sung with the Orion Ukrainian Men’s Choir in Canada in January 2025.

Stephen sings and plays the Bandura with St Andrew’s Ukrainian school bandura ensemble. Stephen has performed bandura at NSW Department of Education – Children’s festival at Darling Harbour, NSW Federation of Community Languages Schools Spectacular (2024) and Extravaganza (2025) at Sydney Town Hall, Education Minister’s Awards – community languages at University of NSW, Ukifest – Darling Harbour, various parish and community functions (2025), Latvian House (2024), 75 years since Immigration of Ukrainians to Australia at Cowra (2024), and for elderly at Cabramatta at Christmas/New Year time (2025/2026).
